Azula, aka “Dootie,” is a sweet 3.5-year-old female pittie who believes 55lbs is definitely not too big for a lap dog! She is high energy and needs to have exercise and play time every day, but by evening she is ready to snuggle up and watch a little Netflix before bed. Azula LOVES people, but will need to be in a home where she is the only pet as she does have a high prey drive and is reactive with other dogs. Azula has had formal training (she scored 100% on basic obedience) and has spent her entire life in a loving home. The ideal home would be an active person (or family), no other pets, a fenced yard, and someone who is not a first-time dog owner. Azula is not a Lucky Day dog, please contact Abbie at abbiefk@hotmail.com for more info.

Earl needs a home! Courtesy post only- not a Lucky Day dog
Earl is a 2-year-old Rottie (possibly mixed, we do not know for sure) who is about 78 lbs. He is located in Grand Junction, Colorado. He is neutered and up to date on all of his vaccinations. Earl is a sweetheart to the people around him and would love someone to go on adventures with. He is still learning his leash manners and he can pull when he wants to do something. He can be excited about treats and will need someone to teach him how to take them gently. He already knows how it sit, shake, and lay down! Earl is has some dog aggression, especially when it comes to barriers (fences, kennels, leashes, etc.). He will need someone who is willing to train and work with him to be the best version of himself that he can be. We would prefer if he went into an only-pet home, as there is not a specific type of dog that seems to agitate him, and he does not get along with cats.
Earl's adoption fee is $160. We do ask that potential adopters be willing to travel to Grand Junction in order to adopt Earl, as we want to make sure this is the best fit possible for him. He is currently living at Mesa County Animal Services

Labrador lady Ellie is looking for her forever home. Ellie was left as a backyard dog for the first 4 years of her life until she was surrendered to her rescuer. Ellie had no life or domestic skills so she went into a live-in training program. She now has skills to calm her exuberance, walk on leash, reside in a home and just be a good girl. Ellie is good with dogs and cats. She would do best in a calmer household with older children, as she can get overly excited with big wiggles that could knock over a toddler. Her adopter will be required to learn her training as to maintain it for a period of time, until she settles in and gets the hang of being part of a family. Ellie is 68 lbs, spayed, UTD on vaccinations, and the vet believes she is around 4-5 years old. To apply, please go to luckydayrescue.org her application will be forwarded to her trainer/rescuer for review.

Alex is a 7-9 year old Male Mix.
He is a handsome boy! He loves his walks or playing fetch with a tennis ball.
He is currently in a foster home with 3 other dogs, a husband and wife. and loves to hang out and play with them or curl up next to his foster mom for cuddles on the couch.
He is a flexible boy....he does not need a home with another dog....or if you do have one he will love a fur brother or sister.
Alex is looking for a home that will take him on walks or hikes. He is up for an adventure.
At night he does sleep soundly in his crate.
Alex would prefer to have someone that works from home so he feels safe and secure throughout the day. He will come and lay right at your feet while you work.
He would do best in a home that will continue with training, consistency and structure that are all important. GRFR will work with the adopter and will pay for his training
Currently he is on CBD oil because he is a bit nervous. He gets nervous with men so slow introductions are important- having a treat handy will help Alex learn men are ok. Continued training is important to help him with building his confidence.

Ozzie! This pretty Catahoula Leopard Dog is only nine months old and ready for her new home! Ozzie is a bit shy but warms up quickly. She weighs around 60 pounds and is a tad bit heavy. She is house trained and crate trained. She is accustomed to eating in her crate. She is not fond of riding in the car and tends to get sick when riding. She has no experience with children. She has been good with visitors to the home, but she is protective of her sleeping area. She will honor a six-foot privacy fence, but she has been known to climb shorter chain link fences. She walks pretty well on the leash, and she is very attentive to what the human is doing and saying. I imagine she is quite intelligent by the way she watches you and will be a quick study learning a new home.
She has done fine with the male Chihuahua and is actually submissive to him, rolling over and showing him her belly. If he pesters her, she will try to run and hide from him. She has also done fine with an intact female boxer in the home. She had no experience with cats, and cats may not be the best roommates for Ozzie, as she just may have that Catahoula prey drive.
She is now spayed and current on all her vaccinations. She would love to move from the vets office to a foster/home so that she can begin to learn all the things a young dog should know. She is at the perfect age for learning all kinds of good stuff! The vet clinic is not really the place to do that. She is currently in Craig, CO. Would you like to help this sweet young girl?

Sally needs a home! Courtesy Post only, not a Lucky Day kitty
Sally is a six year-old female spayed, tortoiseshell long-haired cat. She has had epilepsy since she was young according to her previous owners, but was never treated. She is currently being treated with anti-stress medication which controls most seizure activity, but does make her walk a little like a drunken sailor. She is very sweet and loves to cuddle, but is partially blind so needs a home where there are safety measures in place. She is friendly with dogs, cats and all people. She had complete bloodwork and exam examination done in July, which was all normal. She will need to receive twice daily medications for the remainder of her life. A very special dog looking for his new person. He is a healthy, well adjusted, neutered, vaccinated 42 pound amazing companion. Choco has a happy, playful spirit, socialized to people and other dogs and at least one cat who he lived with for 2 years. He is an excellent exercise buddy and can keep up on all the adventures you want to do. Great off leash with nice recall (once bonded of course). His current owner feels he would be happiest in a home where he could join others in the household on walks, runs and even bike rides.

Boone!
I might be the sweetest boy you've ever met and I give the best hugs. My motto in life is play hard, cuddle hard. Playing with other dogs or running around on trails are my favorite things to do. I can’t deny that I am fascinated by bunnies and squirrels, I might need some help focusing! The only thing I like more than playing with other dogs is getting love from my family. I admit, I do like women more than men. If cuddling was an Olympic sport, I would win the gold medal. I'm pretty chill and up for just about any adventure. I'm also super smart and learn quickly. I am good on my leash but I do need some more training that’s for sure, those mountain bikers totally worry me.
3 ½ years old, 47 pounds, UTD on shots

GIBBS NEEDS A NEW HOME! COURTESY POST ONLY! Not a Lucky Day dog
Meet Gibbs: The Sweet and Goofy Australian Cattle Dog Mix
Gibbs is a lovable 2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix who was rescued from the Eagle County Animal Shelter as a puppy. Despite his rough start, he has blossomed into an affectionate and loyal companion who thrives on love and attention.
Personality: Gibbs is a true cuddle bug! Weighing in at 35 pounds, he believes he's much smaller and prefers to snuggle up on laps, no matter how much space he takes up. His goofy nature and sweet temperament make him a joy to be around, and he’s happiest when he's with his people, especially on long walks. Gibbs is a very intelligent dog who loves to learn and is house-trained, leash-trained, and crate-trained.
What Gibbs Needs: While Gibbs is a love bug with people and dogs he’s familiar with, he does have significant anxiety around new faces and can be protective of his people, becoming reactive when scared or startled. He would thrive in ranch setting or in a calm, stable home with a single person or a couple who can continue working on his training. Ideally, Gibbs should be in a home with a large yard and space to run, without children or other pets. A family who can advocate for him in public and help him manage his anxiety would be the perfect fit.
Why Gibbs is Special: He is not only a quick learner but also a loyal friend. His current family is dedicated to helping him find the right home and willing to contribute financially to his continued training to help him thrive and manage his anxiety.
If you’re ready to give this sweet guy the love and understanding he deserves, Gibbs will be forever grateful and loyal!
He is currently in a home in Eagle, CO
