Azula, aka “Dootie,” is a sweet 3.5-year-old female pittie who believes 55lbs is definitely not too big for a lap dog! She is high energy and needs to have exercise and play time every day, but by evening she is ready to snuggle up and watch a little Netflix before bed. Azula LOVES people, but will need to be in a home where she is the only pet as she does have a high prey drive and is reactive with other dogs. Azula has had formal training (she scored 100% on basic obedience) and has spent her entire life in a loving home. The ideal home would be an active person (or family), no other pets, a fenced yard, and someone who is not a first-time dog owner. Azula is not a Lucky Day dog, please contact Abbie at abbiefk@hotmail.com for more info.

Meet sweet, smart and fun Zion! Please share this guy with your husky loving friends! “Tall, dark and handsome … looking for my life partner, is that you? Don’t just fall for my good looks. I’m also charming , charismatic and lots of fun.
“Get your daypack on, and we can head out together onto the trails for a hike above treeline. Find a rambling mountain stream to sit by…. You eat your snack while I lay nearby eating my snack of dehydrated chicken treats and air scenting the marmots playing on the ridge across the way
“As we head back down the trail to the car, you chat to me about our tv viewing plans for the night . You prefer series , but I am a fan of Netflix documentaries . But in reality, I just adore snuggling on the couch with you. So it doesn’t really matter . Thats the life I dream of…
“Agreed, my life was not always easy, but I have processed my feelings and am ready to move on to the rest of my life. “Yes, I was abandoned by my people and scheduled for euthanasia at a high kill shelter in California. My people got me as an adorable puppy, never trained me and didn't want me once I got bigger"
“The nice folks at SDR are teaching me basic skills and I’m a fast study. I am loving hiking and walking in Colorado! But once I am back home, I am pretty chill. If you do yoga or sit at your computer, I am content to just sit by you or nap
“If you can agree to wear a well stocked treat pouch, and follow a few simple training procedures, I am a straight A student .
“While I want be your life partner, I’m actually pretty chill hanging at home. Just remember to toss a chew to me and I’ll happily hang out at home while you run errands or stop by the office.
“I like other dogs, but no one has introduced me to a cat yet. If you have a cat, let’s talk and see how I feel. Send SDR an email if you’re interested in me! And we can talk.” Summitdogrescue@gmail.com

Labrador lady Ellie is looking for her forever home. Ellie was left as a backyard dog for the first 4 years of her life until she was surrendered to her rescuer. Ellie had no life or domestic skills so she went into a live-in training program. She now has skills to calm her exuberance, walk on leash, reside in a home and just be a good girl. Ellie is good with dogs and cats. She would do best in a calmer household with older children, as she can get overly excited with big wiggles that could knock over a toddler. Her adopter will be required to learn her training as to maintain it for a period of time, until she settles in and gets the hang of being part of a family. Ellie is 68 lbs, spayed, UTD on vaccinations, and the vet believes she is around 4-5 years old. To apply, please go to luckydayrescue.org her application will be forwarded to her trainer for review.

Alex is a 7-9 year old Male Mix.
He is a handsome boy! He loves his walks or playing fetch with a tennis ball.
He is currently in a foster home with 3 other dogs, a husband and wife. and loves to hang out and play with them or curl up next to his foster mom for cuddles on the couch.
He is a flexible boy....he does not need a home with another dog....or if you do have one he will love a fur brother or sister.
Alex is looking for a home that will take him on walks or hikes. He is up for an adventure.
At night he does sleep soundly in his crate.
Alex would prefer to have someone that works from home so he feels safe and secure throughout the day. He will come and lay right at your feet while you work.
He would do best in a home that will continue with training, consistency and structure that are all important. GRFR will work with the adopter and will pay for his training
Currently he is on CBD oil because he is a bit nervous. He gets nervous with men so slow introductions are important- having a treat handy will help Alex learn men are ok. Continued training is important to help him with building his confidence.

Hello world. I’m Onyx! My foster mom rescued me from
a shelter, where I was getting very sick, and
they told her my “time was up”.
My foster mom took me to the doctor so that I could get
better. It wasn’t scary at all. The doctor was so nice and said I
was such a good boy. I started feeling so much better, and
every day, I showed her how much I appreciated getting out
of that scary shelter and having a warm and comfy bed,
really good food, a yard to play in, and lots of love. I never
even once messed up in the house. I figured out really fast
that she has this cool door where I can go in and out
whenever I want.
She named me Onyx because she grew up in Mexico City
and says that the colors of my coat remind her of the onyx
chess set she used to have. Since I was very sick when she
brought me home, I didn’t feel much like playing, so she had
no idea how much energy I have when I feel good! She says
she wishes she could bottle my energy, sell it, and then she
could make a million dollars and help so many more of my
friends at the shelter!
She thinks maybe she should have named me Mr. Wiggles or
Velcro since I LOVE being anywhere with her! I also love
playing with other dogs. There are other dogs here, but they are very old and don’t like to play much; they mostly sleep all
day, which is a bummer for me.
I got to go to a doggy boot camp where I learned to walk on a
leash, sit, and come when called. That was so easy because I
love being with nice people. They put this collar on me that
gives me a little beep to get my attention in case I get
distracted and to stop me from doing anything they don’t
like. (I get very excited to see humans and like to jump up for
joy, but the guy at the camp says that’s a no-no.) I got to play
with other dogs there. They had this huge yard in the country
where I could run and run and run. The guy at the boot camp
says something about me having the “zoomies”. He said I am
very smart and learn fast.
I go into my comfy crate, which I’m used to doing. I’m super
affectionate and love my cuddles and belly rubs. My foster
mom takes me to the park by her house where I get to
adventure and explore; it’s so much fun!!
I love it here, but my foster mom has told me that her goal
was to save me, get me well, and learn some manners to find
me my furever home so she can do it again for another
shelter friend. I understand and hope that my furever home
has a buddy and yard for me to play with and/or a human that
loves to exercise a lot and take me with! My foster mom says I have a lot of energy and curiosity and
puts me in her special dog room where I can go outside on
my own or get in my crate. I get bored when no one is around
to be with, and I can get into things that I’m not supposed to.
I’m not sure why; I’m just trying to entertain myself!
Although I’m sad to have to leave my foster mom, I hope that
telling you a little about myself will help me find my furever
home with you.
Woof, woof!

Cachora is a black female, lab mix originally from Chile. She is 6 years old, but everyone thinks she’s a puppy. She is very sweet and loves lots of attention. Going on long walks and playing chase with other dogs is her favorite pastime. When she’s out and about she loves to meet new people and other dogs. Cachora is well trained but needs to work on jumping up and not running up to everyone and every dog she sees. She has plenty of energy and needs at least one good walk a day but would go out anytime she gets the chance. Her current home has a new baby, and they couldn’t give her the attention or exercise she needs. She is currently in a loving foster home in Edwards, CO and is looking for her new forever home. She would be a great for a family with older kids and would fit in with another dog maybe even a cat.

A very special dog looking for his new person. He is a healthy, well adjusted, neutered, vaccinated 42 pound amazing companion. Choco has a happy, playful spirit, socialized to people and other dogs and at least one cat who he lived with for 2 years. He is an excellent exercise buddy and can keep up on all the adventures you want to do. Great off leash with nice recall (once bonded of course). His current owner feels he would be happiest in a home where he could join others in the household on walks, runs and even bike rides.

GIBBS NEEDS A NEW HOME! COURTESY POST ONLY! Not a Lucky Day dog
Meet Gibbs: The Sweet and Goofy Australian Cattle Dog Mix
Gibbs is a lovable 2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix who was rescued from the Eagle County Animal Shelter as a puppy. Despite his rough start, he has blossomed into an affectionate and loyal companion who thrives on love and attention.
Personality: Gibbs is a true cuddle bug! Weighing in at 35 pounds, he believes he's much smaller and prefers to snuggle up on laps, no matter how much space he takes up. His goofy nature and sweet temperament make him a joy to be around, and he’s happiest when he's with his people, especially on long walks. Gibbs is a very intelligent dog who loves to learn and is house-trained, leash-trained, and crate-trained.
What Gibbs Needs: While Gibbs is a love bug with people and dogs he’s familiar with, he does have significant anxiety around new faces and can be protective of his people, becoming reactive when scared or startled. He would thrive in ranch setting or in a calm, stable home with a single person or a couple who can continue working on his training. Ideally, Gibbs should be in a home with a large yard and space to run, without children or other pets. A family who can advocate for him in public and help him manage his anxiety would be the perfect fit.
Why Gibbs is Special: He is not only a quick learner but also a loyal friend. His current family is dedicated to helping him find the right home and willing to contribute financially to his continued training to help him thrive and manage his anxiety.
If you’re ready to give this sweet guy the love and understanding he deserves, Gibbs will be forever grateful and loyal!
He is currently in a home in Eagle, CO
