✨ Meet Kora! ✨
Kora is about a year old, around 35 lbs, and a Catahoula (possibly mix) with big paws—which means she’s likely not done growing into herself just yet. What she already has fully developed? Her affection. This girl is incredibly sweet, loves her people, and is happiest curled up next to a human for maximum cuddle time. Bedtime? She’s all in. Expect an all-night snuggle buddy.
Kora can be a little nervous when meeting other dogs at first, but with slow, thoughtful introductions, she decides pretty quickly that friends are actually great. She takes her cues from our resident dogs and would do best with an older, confident dog sibling who can show her the ropes and help her build confidence.
True to her Catahoula roots, Kora has some herding instincts and would love to organize any creatures smaller than her—dogs, cats, you name it. With cats, she’s a bit of a mixed bag: she’s somewhat afraid of some and overly interested in others, but could learn to coexist with a brave, confident cat if her adopter is committed to training and management.
She walks nicely on leash and is eager to learn, though she’s still working on some classic young-dog habits like counter surfing and jumping up for attention. When crated, she may protest with a bit of howling at first, but she does settle. We haven’t left her loose when home alone yet, as she’s still figuring out what not to get into.
Kora deserves a home that will prioritize her exercise, structure, and continued training—because with guidance and consistency, she’s going to be an absolutely incredible dog. She’s loving, smart, and trying her best… and she’s so ready for someone to help her become the very best version of herself.
💛 Could that be you? LuckyDayRescue.org to apply! She is currently being fostered in a loving home in the Denver area.

FOSTER NEEDED FOR SAMMY! arriving to CO Jan. 21st! Can you help??
Sammy is guessed to be about 10 months old, is 51 pounds and has the best smile ever. Not sure how she ended up in a shelter but she was fortunate enough to be scooped up and went to a foster home in MO. Since being in her foster home she has gotten glowing reports from her foster dad. She lives with another dog, is crated when her dad goes to work and couldn’t be sweeter. She has met children and done well. She seems to love everyone! This sweet girl has no problem sharing food, has a beautiful temperament, is very good and calm. She walks well on a leash. Sammy loves other dogs and playing. We haven’t seen her with a cat yet so not sure about cats. Her foster said she is such a lovable girl who adores attention. Potty trained, loves her blanket and is fine sleeping in her crate but would rather be with her people. If you would like to help Sammy on her journey to her new home please apply at LuckyDayRescue.org. We can’t wait to meet her!

Nate is ready for his super lucky forever home and family! Named after Colorado Avalanche superstar, Nathan MacKinnon, he’s a superstar too.
Such an incredibly loving, happy, goody and cuddly boy. He just wants to be next to his person/people, where he makes you feel like the center of the universe because, to him, you are the center of his. He’s up for any adventure and will make a great running, hiking, walking partner, as well as a couch snuggler or perfect office mate.
Nate is around 8 months old, 55 pounds, Rottie mix, fully vetted and neutered. He’s fantastic with other dogs, just wanting to play and crate trained. He had a rough start to life, so he’s a bit hesitant with new people at first, but warms up quickly and attaches to people well. Nate will do best in a home with another dog to play with and where someone is home most of the time. He’s being fostered in Parker. If you’re his lucky person, apply at Lucky Day Animal Rescue: LuckyDayRescue.org or message us here for more info. Thanks for considering Nate the Great.

Any Lassie lovers out there? Well here is the male version of perfection...
Meet Hudson!
This extremely handsome fella has a personality to match. He turns 2 years old this month (DOB 02/28/2024) and is 52 pounds but could use some groceries. Hudson is a Rough Coated Collie. He was living on a farm in AR and was fantastic with the goats, chickens, all the farm animals and loves other dogs. The family had to move and could no longer care for him so we brought him to CO to find his new people. He is now in a loving foster home in Carbondale, ready for his new family. Hudson is smart! True to his breed and is also loyal and friendly, also typical of his breed. He listens really well, comes when he is called and is good at taking direction. His foster mom said: He takes food very gently from your hands, doesn’t jump and doesn’t seem to bark. He doesn’t chase any wildlife – I’ve seen a cat, dear, fox, just while walking him in the neighborhood and he doesn’t seem bothered by any of them. Good hiking, dog or running dog. He loves being a good boy and being with his humans.
He is great on a leash, knows how to sit and shake and is just delightful. He is the perfect blend of playful with other dogs and chill when it’s time to relax. He loves to play with other dogs but is respectful when they don’t want to play. Not a hyper dog but has plenty of energy for nice walks and would make a good hiking dog. He seems to like all people and great with kids. He sleeps through the night, is great in the car (very chill) and such a good boy. He has a double coat so will need regular grooming and he does shed. He is not a dog you can shave as he needs his double coat for warmth in the winter and it keeps him cool in the summer, so whoever is lucky enough to adopt him will have to be ok with brushing or regular grooming. He would love a fenced in yard to enjoy and a person or family that won’t leave him home alone much as he really loves to be with his people. He is the kind of dog you can take anywhere! Wynona has arrived!
She is such a pretty girl, even more beautiful in person! She is young, probably around a year or likely younger. She is 34 pounds and has such happy, joyful energy! This girl is snuggly, loves attention and being right by her person. Very curious and likes to be a part of whatever you are doing. She is very playful, but not possessive of her toys. She loves to play tug-of-war with other dogs and games of chase are her fav. She has a very relaxed, chill side to her as well and sweet, sweet!
Wynona is house trained and learned the doggie dog right away, smart girl. Energetic but not hyper. We think she would love an active person or family that can spend a lot of time with her. She was found abandoned so we don’t know about her background or breed but she is darling. My guess would be Australian Shepherd/Catahoula Leopard Dog with a little Terrier tossed in, but just a guess! She has one ear up and one down, so cute!
Wynona is already spayed and current on all her vaccinations, microchipped and ready for fun. She is currently in a loving foster home in New Castle, CO.

Ryder (AKA Butter) is about 5 months old and is a quickly growing 55-60 pounds, we think he is going to be a big fella. Ryder has the softest heart and the gentlest soul despite being dumped as a puppy. Since he was found as a stray, we don’t know his breed but his coat is thick and lush and he loves being outside, especially when there is snow. We would love for him to have a home in the mountains with cooler weather and a fenced in yard to enjoy. He already knows the dog door!
He is very much a puppy still. He needs a family who is ready for some puppy love and the training that comes with it. He is sooo good looking and has a personality to match! Super friendly with other dogs and would love a playmate, a big sister or brother to show him the ways. His foster mom said 'He’s a sweet, loving boy who may take a moment to find his courage—but once he does, he’s all in. Now that he knows his foster is a safe person, he snuggles hard and soaks up every bit of love he can get.’ He gets to go to work with his foster mom and can’t wait to get love from all the humans he gets to meet. He’s currently working on “come” (with long-lead recall training), sit, and leave it (because, well… he’s a puppy and everything looks interesting 😄). He is doing really well on leash walks and his recall is improving daily. This guy has zero aggression, gets along well with other dogs, and quickly figures out his place in the pack while respecting boundaries.
Ryder will thrive with someone who offers consistency, reassurance, and lots of love. In return, you’ll get a loyal, gentle, snuggly companion who just wants to feel safe and loved. Ryder is curious and funny and sweet, sweet sweet! Ryder is an amazing dog and whoever makes him part of their family is super lucky! LuckyDayRescue.org to apply! More pics on our website and he is currently being fostered in a loving home in Westminster, CO.

Opal! This pretty girl is ready for her new home! She is a 1yo, 8m Female, ~70lbs
Opal is a beautiful and sweet girl who loves swimming, hiking, playing, and lounging. She walks nicely on leash and stays close off leash, and she has great recall. She is a total goofball and very food motivated and trainable. She can keep up on big adventures but is pretty low energy for a big puppy, and prefers to be chewing on a bone or sleeping in the sun when she's not snuggling, which is her true expertise. She doesn't care how big she is, she is a lap dog at heart! She is good with baths, trusting with her paws, and overall great with gentle big people and kids. She loves to run around outside and adores playing in the snow. She rarely barks.
Opal plays wonderfully off leash with most dogs, but she can be triggered by reactive dogs, especially inside, at night, or around food. She needs a new home because she is not good with cats, so no cats please! She would do best in a home where she is the only pet or with a confident, non-reactive dog.
Opal is a great family dog and whoever she finds a home with will be tremendously lucky. She is deeply loved by many in her life and no doubt will continue to charm, love, play, and snuggle her way through the world. Opal is currently in Paonia, CO
