kora

Kora!

✨ Meet Kora! ✨

Kora is about a year old, around 35 lbs, and a Catahoula (possibly mix) with big paws—which means she’s likely not done growing into herself just yet. What she already has fully developed? Her affection. This girl is incredibly sweet, loves her people, and is happiest curled up next to a human for maximum cuddle time. Bedtime? She’s all in. Expect an all-night snuggle buddy.

Kora can be a little nervous when meeting other dogs at first, but with slow, thoughtful introductions, she decides pretty quickly that friends are actually great. She takes her cues from our resident dogs and would do best with an older, confident dog sibling who can show her the ropes and help her build confidence.

True to her Catahoula roots, Kora has some herding instincts and would love to organize any creatures smaller than her—dogs, cats, you name it. With cats, she’s a bit of a mixed bag: she’s somewhat afraid of some and overly interested in others, but could learn to coexist with a brave, confident cat if her adopter is committed to training and management.

She walks nicely on leash and is eager to learn, though she’s still working on some classic young-dog habits like counter surfing and jumping up for attention. When crated, she may protest with a bit of howling at first, but she does settle. We haven’t left her loose when home alone yet, as she’s still figuring out what not to get into.

Kora deserves a home that will prioritize her exercise, structure, and continued training—because with guidance and consistency, she’s going to be an absolutely incredible dog. She’s loving, smart, and trying her best… and she’s so ready for someone to help her become the very best version of herself.

💛 Could that be you? LuckyDayRescue.org to apply! She is currently being fostered in a loving home in the Denver area.

reagan

ARRIVED!

Arriving Saturday, Feb. 21st!

Reagan looks like a yellow lab mix but we think she’s probably a Heinz 57! She is guessed to be just under a year old and is 31 pounds. This sweet girl loves to play with toys and catch me if you can with other dogs. She has medium energy and would thrive with another young dog to play with, great with all dogs but prefers males. We don’t know about cats. She had a rough start so can still be a little shy with new people but will warm up quickly. She is crate trained (but doesn’t need one), house trained and uses a doggy door. Reagan currently is sleeping on a recliner at night, her favorite spot! She hasn’t had formal training but is very treat motivated and would thrive with learning new things!

Reagan was dropped off at a shelter when she was only a baby, 3 months old, and lived in a 2 x 2 kennel at the shelter for 53 days. Lucky for her, our very experienced, kind rescue partner in AR took her home. It was a full month before she could pet her with both hands. She has been with this foster for 6 months and she is now a totally new dog. She is playful, happy, bright, lovable and ready and willing to steal your heart. She needs a home with a dog savvy person who will continue working on her confidence. A huge plus would be a home with another playful young dog. Reagan attends ‘Camp Diggity Dogs’ 3 days a week where she has many doggie friends and is a social butterfly.

Reagan is spayed and current on all her shots and now ready for her forever home! Is that with you? Now accepting applications. LuckyDayRescue.org to apply!

gumby

Arrived!

Gumby is ready for his new home!

If you are looking for a puppy dog with an amazing personality, a puppy that loves life, loves people, loves other dogs, has zero aggression and only wants to have a family to call his very own, Gumby is your boy. This charming fellow was picked up as a stray along with his brother Alfie.  When found these two vagabonds were extremely underweight and both had coats matted to the skin. It was obvious they had been on their own for a very long time and how they managed to survive is a true miracle.

Gumby had a few problems adjusting to living inside, mainly drinking tons of water and wanting to eat to the point his entire belly was about to explode. He had only known a life of starving for both food and water. He had no idea the bathroom was outside and insisted on squatting anywhere and everywhere.  He has now learned to use a doggie door to let himself in and out but on occasions still has an inside accident so reinforcement in that area will definitely be necessary.

He is a quick study and with his overwhelming desire to please, training should be a snap.

Gumby is about a year old and tips the scale around 24 pounds.  As for his breed, that is the million dollar question…I am leaning towards Miniature Aussie mix, with a pinch of pixie dust mixed in.  He does not resource guard his food nor his toys.  He is super friendly and could be trusted with children of all ages.

He has not been exposed to cats at his foster home but I think he would do just fine with a feline friend.

Whom ever adopts this toss away guy will not be disappointed.  He is a true keeper and will repay their kindness a million times over.

He is up to date on shots and on monthly flea/tick/heartworm preventatives, neutered and ready for his next chapter. LuckyDayRescue.org to apply!

molly

ADOPTED!

Molly is ready for her forever home!
This darling Cockapoo just arrived to CO and will be so happy to have a person of her own. She just turned one year old (DOB 2-13-25) and is 20 pounds. She is the ultimate cuddler. This girl wants to be right next to her person, she is the perfect lap dog, so snuggly. She loves to sleep in bed with her person and will follow you everywhere. She is just as cute as can be and we can only imagine how she will turn heads once she gets groomed. What a doll! She was an owner surrender from an elderly lady who could no longer care for her so we brought her to CO to start her new life. Molly needs a loving, patient person as she is skittish of loud noises although does excellent off leash with her foster mom. She does great with other dogs of all sizes but really cares most about being with her person. Absolutely fine with cats, she seems to like them. She paces inside when she doesn’t know where to go or if there is too much activity going on. If she can sit next to you on the couch she is very comfortable and quiet. Everything is so new to her as she likely hasn’t experienced anything outside the home she was in. She is sweet as can be, not a mean bone in her cute little body but she definitely needs a special person to show her how good life is. Are you that special person? We know she is going to be the best lap warmer and charmer out on walks as soon as she feels safe. Molly hasn’t learned to potty outside yet, she is completely pee pad trained and won’t go anywhere else but will need someone to teach her going on the grass or snow is sooo much better! Molly prefers women but will warm up to men if they don’t move too quickly. She just need a little time but is practically perfect! She is good at jumping onto the couch or in the car. LuckyDayRescue.org to apply! She is already spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and ready for love.

shaggy

ADOPTED!

What a treasure!

Shaggy has arrived and is such a gem. He is young, the guess is around a year old, probably full grown as teeth look adult but still has lots of playful puppy energy and such a joyful spirit! He carries toys and shoes around but doesn’t chew them, not at all destructive. He is only 26 pounds but is very athletic and can keep up with the big dogs. He looks like a mini Australian Shepherd with a white collar that could be Border Collie? Delicate face like a Shetland Sheepdog- maybe a mix of a few things but oh so handsome! If you are looking for an extremely loyal, loving, playful family member/exercise buddy this guy is for you. He loves other dogs, attaches quickly to his person, great with cats but a bit scared of them, and has excellent recall off leash. Shaggy is 100% sweet, gives great kisses and wants to be with his people, up for anything. Enjoys car rides but would like to be in your lap so a harness is recommended until he understands that is not a good idea while driving. He was turned in to a shelter found as a stray but doesn’t seem to have any signs of abuse or neglect. Everything is just new to him although he seems to love learning new things. House-trained and learned the doggie door in minutes, smart fella! He will need an active person or family as he loves all the action. He is currently in a foster home in Basalt, CO. Meet Lilly, this little spitfire is everything a puppy should be! Adorable, busy, playful and snuggly. Guessing she is a Dachshund mix, but her resemblance to a Lab is uncanny. She LOVES to play with other dogs, meeting new people and new dogs and seems to just love life! She knows no strangers. She is ok on a leash but would benefit from some more training.
